Thousands of products, hundreds of clubs, you could spend all day searching the web. Start Cycling has it all on one site. I started this site to keep track of the local shops in my neighborhood. Then I started branching out first capturing the bicycle stores in California, only to keep moving east, this is constanly a work in progress. Don't see your bicycle shop or club listed, send your information.

For the last two years I have had the privilege to be the Club President of the San Jose Bicycle Club. It was a life learning experience, a hundred memories I will keep close, but it's now time to get back on the bike and start to enjoy the sport I feel in love with so many years ago.

Cycling Terminology

Bonk: Slang for running out of energy due to low glycogen levels usually coupled with dehydration.

Brain Bucket: helmet. Whenever you are riding your bike, you should have one on your head.

Criterium: a massed start, high-speed bicycle race events in which riders race around a closed circuit racecourse to compete for order of finish.

Lead Out: a rider intentionally sacrificing his chances of winning a sprint, so that a teammate can ride in his draft until ready to begin the final sprint.

Peloton: the large, aerodynamicly efficient, and extremely fast pack of riders near the front in a road race, also known as the field.
